Editor and Content Developer for Discipleship Initiatives
The Rev. Dr. Regina L. Walton joined Forward Movement in the summer of 2025. She previously served in parish ministry in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts for twenty years, as a lay Christian education director, assistant/associate clergy, and then as pastor and rector of Grace Church in Newton, MA for nine years. She received her MDiv from Harvard Divinity School, where she was also trained as an educator through the Program in Religion and Secondary Education. She received her PhD in religion and literature from Boston University, where she was an Episcopal Church Foundation fellow. In addition to her work at Forward Movement, she serves as Denominational Counselor to Anglican/Episcopal Students and Lecturer at Harvard Divinity School. She is an award-winning poet and has also published scholarly articles. Her vocation has always encompassed congregational leadership, scholarship and creative writing, and teaching and Christian formation. In her ministry, she strives to bridge the gap between congregational life and academic theological education.
Regina’s work with the Cedar team at Forward Movement integrates her passion for Christian formation and discipleship, her love of teaching and curricula design, and her skills as a writer and editor. She is a lively preacher and presenter. She loves leading clergy conferences and connecting with leaders across the Episcopal Church. She enjoys quilting, playing fiddle and mandolin, and checking out too many books from the library.
