The Rev. Robert Hendrickson
Chief of Discipleship Initiatives
The Rev. Robert Hendrickson joined Forward Movement in the summer of 2025. Before coming to Forward Movement, Robert was most recently Rector of St. Philip’s in the Hills Episcopal Church in Tucson, Arizona, one of the largest and most active congregations in the Diocese of Arizona. He led the parish for a decade, shepherding the community through cultural changes, societal polarization, and the challenges of post-pandemic life, emphasizing deepening discipleship and authentic Christian formation.
A graduate of General Theological Seminary in New York, Robert was ordained to the priesthood in 2011. Prior to parish ministry in Tucson, he served as Sub-dean and Acting Dean of St. John’s Cathedral in Denver, where he oversaw worship, mission initiatives, and community partnerships. His early ordained ministry included work with intentional community ministries and young adult formation.
Robert is known for his commitment to helping Christians live the Gospel with clarity and courage. He has contributed to wider church life as a co-founder of the Society of Catholic Priests in the Episcopal Church and as an author, notably of Yearning: Authentic Transformation, Young Adults, and the Church — a book on ministry with young adults.
